Submission Deadline in 3 Days!

The submission deadline for the Green Apps for Ontario Challenge is January 21, 2014 at 5pm E.T!

Do you have all the required items ready to go? Read through the Submission Checklist one more time, and don't wait until the last minute to start your submission process.

If you haven't started yet, there's still time! Pretend it's a hackathon — we've seen some slick apps coded in under 72 hours.

Submission Checklist

The submission deadline for the Green Apps for Ontario Challenge is fast approaching. Make sure you submit your app by January 21, 2014 at 5pm E.T.

Here's a handy checklist to help you wrap up your submission. Make sure you can answer "yes" to each of these questions before hitting that submit button.

Please disregard the update that was sent out this morning. 

As was announced last week, the deadline for submitting to the Energy Apps for Ontario Challenge is January 21, 2014 at 5pm E.T. We will be sending another reminder to you to start your drafts two weeks from that date.

Submission Deadline Extension

UPDATE:

In the interests of fairness to all participants, we extended the submission deadline to reflect the approximately two-week period during which the test lab was inoperable.

The final decision to extend the app challenge was not made until after the last meetup, which is why it was not communicated at that time.

In response to developer feedback, the submission deadline for the Energy Apps for Ontario Challenge has been extended.

Please note that the new dates will be as follows:

  • Submission end date: January 21, 2014
  • Public Voting/Judging: February 3, 2014 - February 17, 2014
  • Winners Announced: After

Test Bed Update & Meetup

Below are a few updates in advance of the final Energy Apps for Ontario Meetup in Toronto tonight (Tuesday, Dec. 17), which will have an online component for out-of-towners.

1) The team at PowerInform have created an additional test bed for participants in the Energy Apps for Ontario Challenge. Part of the meetup will include an overview of the service that, while still a work in progress, will be a nice addition to the roster of available resources

Meetups

Developers in Ontario's Halton region are looking to organize a meetup for the Energy Apps for Ontario Challenge. If you're interested email Guillaume Dupriez, and check out the Silicon Halton group on LinkedIn.

In Toronto, there are two meetups coming up on November 19 and December 17. These will be opportunities for you to meet other developers, talk about your projects, and meet Challenge organizers.

Important Note for iOS Developers

We recently added an iPhone 5 to our suite of testing devices. This affects developers who plan to submit an iOS app that will not be available on the app store before the competition deadline. For those of you who would like to share your test build for an iPhone 5, please visit TestFlightApp.com and put in the following information when you’re ready:
